Dyed Window Film

Dyed window film is a three-ply film, which absorbs sunlight as it tries to penetrate the windows. It is the most popular type of window tint because it is the most affordable. It can crease easily while installing, but if done correctly you can expect several years of life out of this dyed window film.

Dyed window film will protect against UV rays that can cause damage to your interior. The down side is that it will not deflect heat from entering the vehicle because it is made of a non reflective material. Dyed window tint will also have a hard time holding its color over time and may be less effective over time.

Bottom line is that dyed film is a great option if you want a cheap but stylish window tint installation. It will do the job of blocking the harmful UV rays and will not interfere with your cars electronic systems.

.

Metalized Film

Metalized is similar to dyed window tint in that it helps filter out heat by reflecting it. During the manufacturing of this type of film the use very small metallic particles that block the sunlight instead of using dye. Metalized window film technology helps keep your vehicles interior cool.

This film can be noticed by the shine it reflect off the windows. It is made with a higher scratch-resistance to dyed auto window tint.

Some benefits of metalized window tint is that it provides strength. This will add a type of shatter resistance to the window. Also it is effective in blocking out heat, reducing glare, and blocking UV rays.

Metalized window tint film is durable and can last longer without fading. The downfall is that it can effect electronic communication systems.

Bottom line with metalized window tint is that is offers a shiny stylish look that differs from other films. It provides good protection and strength for your automotive windows. But it may interfere with the vehicle electronics. Some people prefer the look over the possible negatives.
