Clean the windows thoroughly. Start by removing any stickers or decals from the windows and cleaning off any adhesive so that the glass is perfectly clean and smooth. For cleaning you can mix a few drops of dish soap into warm water adding this into a spray bottle. After spraying the windows down, you can use a flat razor to scrape away any dirt or grime. Don’t forget to clean all edges and seals. Wipe the windows with a clean rag.
2
Cutting and Measuring. Spray the outside of the window with your soapy water mixture. This will help the tint to temporarily adhere to the window for measuring. Next, unroll the tint over the window with the clear backing facing the window. Cut out the window about 2 inches longer on each side of the film. Make sure you do not remove the liner from the film at this point. Now you are ready to trim out the shape of the window, be sure to leave about an inch at the bottom to tuck behind the window gasket. If you will be heat shrinking your film, now would be the time to do this.
3
Applying the film. Using soapy water, spray the inside of the glass liberally. With your window down slightly, remove the clear backing from the film and position the tint to the car window. Slide it around till it aligns perfectly. If you need, you can always peel the film back and add more soapy water.
4
Squeegeeing the film. Before squeegeeing the film, spray film with soapy water liberally. Smooth out the window tint with your squeegee, pushing all the water and air bubbles towards the edges of the glass. Work downward and outward if possible, spraying the tint with more soapy water to make sure you don't rip the liner. Keep squeegeeing the water out of the tint so that it is smooth.
5
Drying the windows. Once the film has been installed completely, simply dry the windows inside and out with a clean rag. Be sure to dry all around the edges and around the window gaskets.
